DID NOT LIKE - (BUT found an alternative)

Had to send this one back. I was unaware that it utilizes 3M adhesive tape to stick directly to the hood. That's not what I was looking for. But, if that's what you are looking for, it is a great product. The material is durable and covers just the front part of the hood. The chrome abs plastic looks great also. But, unfortunately the product was not what I was looking for. Shipping was quick and the price is good too. These run about $129 at an auto parts store such as Advance Auto. So the price was well worth it. REVIEWERS AFTER-THE-FACT NOTE: AMAZON REFUNDED ME FOR THE PURCHASE AND IN VERY SHORT ORDER... THAT WAS IMPRESSIVE ON AMAZON'S PART. I DID FIND AN ALTERNATIVE. AUTO VENTSHADE (AVS), THE SAME COMPANY WHO MAKES THIS "STICK-ON" HOOD SHIELD, MAKES A FULL-HEIGHT, NO DRILL APPLICATION THAT DOES NOT STICK TO THE HOOD AND COMES OUT AWAY FROM THE HOOD. THIS PART NUMBER AND DESCRIPTION IS: Auto Ventshade 680035 - Chrome Hood Shield; Full Height; No Drill. THIS ALTERNATIVE UTILIZES THREE EXISTING HOLES IN THE UNDERSIDE OF THE HOOD WITH EXPANDING NUTS AND PHILLIPS HEAD SCREWS. ALSO NOTE THAT THIS PART NUMBER 680035 ONLY APPLIES TO THE NEW CHEVROLET BODY STYLE 2007-2011 SILVERADO. UNFORTUNATELY, AMAZON DOES NOT OFFER OR STOCK THIS ALTERNATIVE. I HAD TO FIND IT AT STREET SIDE AUTO.COM. THE PRICE IS $92.99 + free shipping. INSTALLATION TOOK 5 MINUTES AND IT LOOKS GREAT. I JUST WISH AMAZON OFFERED IT. Adittional note: Amazon.com DOES offer the alternative, but the title of the listing is incorrect. Look up Ventshade 680335. The title of the listing has the part number listed incorrectly but further down in the product description at the bottom it says 680035. Same price as the other website and free shipping.

goes on very easy, prep is simple just wash and use alcohol pads to remove wax and oils,two pairs of hands a must three is perfect.the extra hands help line up since the sheild only mounts with double sided tape no anchor points which is the only draw back with the mounting... i give this a 4 star.
